Storz & Bickel Crafty+ Canada: A Quick Intro
Storz & Bickel is one of the top-selling vape brands in Canada—they’re responsible for such iconic creations as the Volcano desktop vaporizer (regarded by many as the best vaporizer in the world, hands down) and the Mighty portable vape. The brand built its reputation on making bigger and better vapes than anyone else, but now they’ve turned their attention to a (literally) smaller endeavor—the Crafty+ dual use portable vaporizer.
The Crafty+ isn’t quite as small as your typical vape pen, but it’s a good deal more compact than most of Storz & Bickel’s other offerings. It still features the German engineering and attention to detail that’s made the brand famous, but in a much smaller package. Customizable temperature controls, a rugged design, and top-notch vapor quality are just a few of the Crafty+’s calling cards.
It’s a lot of vape for a beginner, but for advanced users, the Crafty+ ticks many of the boxes you’d expect in a premium vaporizer. And at Namaste Vapes, we’ve got the lowest prices on the internet, along with a 100% satisfaction guarantee—we’ll even throw in free U.S. shipping. So if you’re in the market for a new Crafty+, you’ve come to the right place.
But what if you’re still on the fence? It’s understandable, considering the price tag. Keep reading to discover if the Crafty+ is the right vape for you.

Crafty Plus: 5 Key Features
The Crafty+ is the second iteration of the Crafty line, and with this new and improved version, Storz & Bickel sought to address many of the issues that users identified with the first model. That includes an improved battery life, smoother air flow, and more. Here are a few more things that make the Crafty+ stand out:
The Crafty+ looks like it was made to withstand a drop off a very tall cliff—while we don’t actually recommend trying this, the rugged plastic housing of the Crafty+ does give it a certain tank-like quality for everyday use. It also features an extra-gripable ribbing that helps prevent drops, and a flippable mouthpiece to prevent any unexpected breakage while in transport. It might be an awkward fit in your pocket, but it’ll fit easily into any small bag.
2. Compatible With Dry Herb and Concentrates
When you’re paying for a premium portable vaporizer, you expect it to be equally adept at vaping dry herb and concentrates—and the Crafty+ doesn’t disappoint in this regard. The large oven chamber can hold a whopping 0.25 g of dry herb in a single session, and the dosing capsule makes it easier to measure out smaller quantities if you prefer. The drip pads included in the kit make it easy to vape your favorite concentrates without making a huge mess in the oven chamber.
3. Precision Temperature Controls
The Crafty+ has quite a wide temperature range: 104°F – 410°F, to be exact. You can make basic adjustments to the temperature using the single control button on the device (pro tip: double tap the button once, then again to hit the maximum temperature). However, for more control over the precise temperature you can use the free Storz & Bickel app, which we’ll discuss below.
4. Smartphone and Web App
Storz & Bickel have managed to achieve the impossible—avoiding Apple’s ban on vaporizer-related apps in the App Store. To control your Crafty+ from your phone, you’ll technically be using the brand’s web-based app (which can be accessed from Bluetooth-enabled browsers like Bluefly). Android users can control their device using the standard app from the Google Play Store. In both cases, you can set precise temperatures down to the degree, and control other important functions.
5. Hybrid Heating System
In case you’re not a chemistry expert, there are typically two types of heating system used in portable vaporizers. Conduction vapes work by heating the material via direct contact with the oven chamber, which is typically faster. Convection vapes work by blasting the material with superhot air, which typically results in a better flavor. The Crafty+ uses a combination of each heating system so you get the best of both worlds.
How To Use Crafty+ Vaporizer
Despite the lack of buttons and light-up gizmos, the Crafty+ can have a bit of a learning curve, especially for new users. Having said that, a little hands-on experience makes it much easier to manage. Here’s an idea of what you’ll have to do:
1. Loading the Crafty+
The top part of the Crafty+ is known as the “cooling unit,” and you’ll need to remove this to access the oven chamber. Once you’ve unscrewed the cooling unit and set it aside, you’ll want to put your dry herb into the filling aid included in the kit (being careful not to overfill it, as this can make it harder to take hits). For concentrates, place your material on the drip pad instead. Then, load your material into the oven chamber, reattach the cooling unit, and get ready to vape.
2. Getting Best Vapor Quality with the Crafty+
In all honesty, the factory default setting on the Crafty+ does seem to do the trick for many users: 356° F, right in the sweet spot. Hitting the power button twice will raise the temperature to 383° F, enabling Boost Mode. If you want something in between (or even a bit higher) to satisfy your cravings, you’ll need to use the app.
3. Cleaning the Crafty+
The Crafty+ is a bit tricker to clean than most vapes. Some steps are similar (i.e. scrape out any excess material from the oven chamber, and rub it down with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab). However, dealing with the cooling unit requires a bit more time and energy. You’ll need to unscrew it from the body of the vape, and remove the O-rings within (in case you’re unfamiliar with “O-rings,” they look like tiny rubber bands). Then, soak the cooling unit in isopropyl alcohol for at least 15-20 minutes, and wipe it down with a cotton swab. For moderate users, cleaning the Crafty+ every two weeks should be sufficient.
Should You Buy Crafty+ Vaporizer ?
The Crafty+ has a lot going for it—it produces exceptionally tasty vapor, it’s built to last, and it’s perfect for extended sessions or vaping with friends. It’s also got a better battery life and smoother airflow than previous models, and it’s one of the rare dual use vaporizers that’s equally well-suited for handling either material.
The relatively high price tag of the Crafty+ may give some people pause, and it’s definitely not the lowest maintenance vape on the market today. On the other hand, if you take decent care of your Crafty+ it’ll last you for many, many years, and it has a certain timeless quality to it that should appeal to the heart of hardcore vapers.
